At Aqua Barn Farm, our story began with a vision to build a sustainable, thriving aquaponics farm from the ground up. We have created a farm that provides fresh, healthy food year round in a self sustaining ecosystem that conserves water, eliminates waste and nurtures both fish and plants without chemicals. What We Do
Aquaponics combines aquaculture (raising fish) and hydroponics (growing plants without soil) in a sustainable closed-loop system. Fish produce nutrient-rich waste, which is broken down by beneficial bacteria into natural fertilizer for the plants. In turn, the plants filter and clean the water, which is then recirculated back to the fish tanks. This eco-friendly process conserves water - using up to 90% less than traditional farming. Aquaponics eliminates the need for chemical fertilizer, and produces fresh organic food year-round.
